The Compassionate Friends is a national nonprofit, self-help support organization that offers friendship, understanding, and hope to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings. There is no religious affiliation and there are no membership dues or fees.

Worldwide Candle Lighting Service

“That their light may always shine” is the theme of parents that will participating in a candle lighting service that is held annually on the second Sunday of December as a way for all caring persons to remember those children who have died. The Worldwide Candle Lighting Service is made up of hundreds of memorial services around the globe held in parks, churches and other public places by The Compassionate Friends chapters as well as bereaved parents, friends and relatives to create a 24-hour wave of light in memory of all children who have died.

The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home in Muscatine is sponsoring the Muscatine Chapter of The Compassionate Friends Candle Lighting Service on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 6:30 PM at the Bereavement center of  Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services.
