D. Stacy Lewis was the  owner of the Lewis Homes for Funeral and Cremation Services from 1978-2019..  He is a third generation funeral director, the descendant of Victor and Grace Stacy and Warren and Connie Lewis who were owners of the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home of Columbus Junction.  He graduated from Columbus Community High School in 1969, Upper Iowa University with a Bachelor of Arts in French and a Bachelor of Science in Mortuary Science and minor in Chemistry, and Indiana College of Mortuary Science with an Associates Degree in Mortuary Science.  Stacy is a member of the Muscatine Rotary Club, BPO Elks Lodge 304, Moose Lodge, City of Muscatine Airport Commission, the Muscatine Chamber of Commerce and attends Calvary Baptist Church.   Stacy is actively involved in the IFDA, having held many positions such as past president and serving with the Insurance Commissioner reviewing funeral services, insurance and trust codes 523A and E.  He is also active in the NFDA previously serving on the NFDA Policy Board and member and past chairman of the Pursuit of Excellence Committee.  In his free time he enjoys flying his Cessna Stationair TU206 airplane, scuba diving in the Bahamas, skiing, biking and hiking in Colorado and spending time with his family.

Eric grew up in New London, Iowa, the son of Dennis "Abe" and Iva Snyder.  He attended the University of Iowa and then transferred to Southern Illinois University to pursue his education in Mortuary Science.  After becoming a licensed funeral director in 1992, Eric moved to Lone Tree where he was employed at the Sorden Funeral Homes in Lone Tree and Riverside.  In 1993, he became a partner in the funeral home.  Following the retirement of Eric's business partner, they sold to D. Stacy Lewis where he worked as the manager until March of 2019, when he, and business partner, Whitney Hollenbauhgh purchased the Lewis Homes for Funeral and Cremation Services in Muscatine, Columbus Junction, Lone Tree and Riverside.  In August of 2019, Eric and his business partner, Whitney Hollenbaugh purchased the Dudgeon McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello, the Hagele-Honts Funeral Homes in Morning Sun and Mediapolis and the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield.

Eric currently lives in Riverside with his wife, Kim and has two children, Officer Sean (Jessica) Snyder and Chanda (Cody) Timmerman.  Eric and wife, Kim, recently became the proud grandparents of two grandchildren, Joslyn "Josi" Joy Snyder and Dawson Rhett Timmerman.  When living in Lone Tree, Eric was very involved with the community.  He was a member of the Lone Tree Fire and Rescue, Lone Tree Jaycees, Community Club and Lone Tree Lions Club.  Eric is currently the Vice-President and founding member of Iowa Wildlife United.  When there is time away from work, Eric enjoys spending time with his family, fishing and hunting.

Whitney Hollenbaugh grew up in Wapello, Iowa, the daughter of Roger and Debbie Huddle. She is a graduate of Wapello High School and received her degree in Mortuary Science from Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Illinois.  She continued her education at the University of Iowa where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Liberal Arts with a major in Psychology.  She is a licensed funeral director and embalmer in the State of Iowa and the State of Illinois as well as an Iowa Life Insurance Producer.  She first started her career in funeral service in Burlington, Iowa before moving to Muscatine to work at the Lewis Funeral Homes.  In 2019,  Whitney along with Eric Snyder, purchased the business along with locations in Wapello, Mediapolis, Morning Sun and Winfield.  She currently sits on the advisory board for Carl Sandburg College Mortuary Science Program and is a member of P.E.O. Chapter MM-OE .  Whitney and her husband Tony have two boys, Cal and Pete.  Outside of work Whitney enjoys shopping, reading, spending time with her family and being involved with her children's many activities.

Kirsten Hogan grew up in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of the late Raymond "Pete"  and Beverly (Heuer) Ribbink.  She is a graduate of Muscatine High School Class of 2003, Muscatine Community College and Arapahoe Community College, where she received her degree in Mortuary Science.  Kirsten began her career with the Lewis Homes for Funeral and Cremation Services in June of 2002.  She currently resides in Muscatine with her husband, Kory, daughter, McKenna and son, Maverick.    When not at work, she enjoys bowling, playing volleyball and softball, reading, and spending time with her family.

John grew up in Webster City, the son of David and Edie Hansen. He is a graduate of WCHS class of 1998, Iowa State University and Carl Sandburg Community College where he obtained his Mortuary Science Degree. In 2004 he served his apprenticeship with Lewis Funeral Homes in Muscatine and spent eight years in Muscatine,  After moving home to Webster City for a short time, John has returned to re-join the Lewis Homes for Funeral and Cremation Services family.

Although Michael spent the first eighteen years of his life in Webster City, IA, he has lived the majority of his life in Columbus Junction, where he taught middle school for 36 years.  Michael and his wife, Marcia have three children and four grandchildren.  Michael earned his Bachelors degree from Westmar College and his Masters degree from the University of Iowa.  He is an active member of both the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church and the Columbus Lions Club.  Michael has been the recipient of the Iowa Social Studies Teacher of the Year award, the Southeast Iowa Volunteer of the Year award and the inaugural Columbus Masonic Lodge Teacher of the Year award.  In his free time, Michael enjoys reading, spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, creating DVD's of his family, and visiting with his former students.

Susan Bales

Susan (St. Peter) Bales was born in Sioux City, Iowa and graduated from Sioux City North Hugh School.  She had also attended Indian Hills College in Ottumwa and completed her Ministry training at Berean University in Springfield,, MO and the Iowa Ministries Network where she is a licensed minister with the Assemblies of God.  Susan and her husband, Mike have three children that are grown and six grandchildren.  She has served as Co-pastor of the First Assembly of God Church here in Muscatine for the past 21-years.  Before that they pastored in Ottumwa, Clinton and Webster City.  Susan is very active with her church and has other interest of learning the piano, singing in worship group at church, teaching and preaching.  Susan has been with the Lewis Funeral Homes for over 8-years as a visitation greeter and enjoys meeting many wonderful people.


Earlene Lekwa

Earlene Lekwa was born in Columbus Junction and graduated from Columbus High School.  She graduated from the Burlington Beauty Academy and was a licensed cosmetologist for twenty years in Columbus Junction.  Earlene taught preschool for 8 years before joining the Lewis Funeral Homes staff in 2004.  Earlene and her husband Verl have two sons and four grandchildren.  She is a member of the Columbus City United Methodist Church where she serves as Lay Leader.  She is a member of the church choir and helps with Sunday School.  Earlene is active in the community, belonging to the Columbus Lions Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Columbus Community Club, Etude Music Club, Columbus Women's Organization and serving on the Columbus Children's Center Board.  She has also served one term as Columbus Junction Mayor. Earlene's hobbies include quilting, singing, spending time with the grandchildren and working in her flower beds.
