Xavier Halstead, 15, was called home on December 14, 2020 in Columbus Junction. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Victory Christian Center in Columbus Junction. The Service will be streamed at www.Facebook.com/victorypeople. Visitation for Xavier will be on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Columbus Junction. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Xavier. Online condolences may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com. All who attend the visitation and service are asked to wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines for everyone’s safety.
Xavier Alexander Halstead, was born September 18, 2005 in Iowa City, the son of John and Lisa Exline. He was a freshman at Columbus Junction High School. Xavier loved playing and having conversations about all sports, but his favorite was football. Other favorite activities included model cars and treasure hunting. Xavier was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan and also cheered for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones.
Xavier will be deeply missed by his parents, John and Lisa Exline; sister, Alysha Halstead; aunts and uncles, Ashley (Nathan Murdock) Halstead, Austin Halstead, Jara (Kyle) Vroman, Kara (Chuck) Adolph and Derek (Alex) Paetz; cousins, Danika, Christopher and RaeLynn; grandparents; Paul and Deb Halstead; great-grandparents; Donna (Rainier) Nitsche, Lois Exline, Lyla Halstead and Donna Homewood; many extended family, friends, teammates and school faculty.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, Howard Williams, Jerry Exline and Roger Utsler.
