Wilma Marie Johnston, 95, of Wapello, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2020, at Specialty Care in Wapello. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 am. on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at the Columbus City Cemetery. Wilma Marie Rahmiller was born on December 10, 1924, in Columbus City, the daughter of Herman and Jessie (Stone) Rahmiller. On October 26, 1944, she was united in marriage to Clem Johnston. Wilma painted houses and apartments; her last one was at age of 87. She loved to cook, bake, spend time with her grandchildren, neighbors and her “Second Tavern Family”, Sunday afternoon car rides, manicuring her lawn and having a beer or two.
Wilma will be dearly missed by her daughter-in-law, Karen Johnston; grandson, Kevin (Shelly) Johnston; granddaughter, Tami (Brad) Kerr and great grandchildren, Kyla and Tyler Johnston, Zak (Jenn), Alex and great-great grandchildren, Brooks and Boston Kerr.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clem; son, Tom and special friend Bus Sorensen; brother, “Chick” and granddaughter-in-law, Twila Johnston.
