William J. “Bill” Wolford, 80, of Muscatine, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Columbus Junction American Legion Post #100. A Time of Remembrance will be held at 6:00 P.M. Memorials may be directed to the Muscatine Humane Society, American Heart Association or Healing at English River Outfitters in Bill’s name. William Jason Wolford was born on March 1, 1944 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Horace Jason and Olga Frances (Chown) Wolford. Following high school, Bill served his country in the National Guard Reserves for several years. Bill was united in marriage to Lois Ione Franck on October 25, 1968 until her passing in 1999. He had been employed by Quaker Oats for 36 years-spending the last 17 of those years as the plant manager in Tennessee. On October 20, 2001, Bill was united in marriage to Jane Hankins in Columbus Junction, Iowa. In his free time, Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, working in his garage and yard, gardening and was a member of the Cedar Valley Hunting Club and the Columbus Junction American Legion.
William will be deeply missed by his wife, Jane Wolford of Muscatine; sons, Jason Richard (Missy) Wolford of Athens, TN and Andrew William (Christy) Wolford of Murfreesboro, TN; step-children, Stacy Nicole (Lincoln) Pearce of Clive, Iowa and Kara Dyan (Mark) Stout of Letts, IA; ten grandchildren, Billy, Frankie, Dani, Shawn, Logan, Lucky, Henrie, Clementine, Arlo and Dylin; four step-grandchildren, Taylor, Gavin, Josie and Austin; one great grandchild, Riley; brother, Jerry Wayne Wolford of Mesa, Arizona; brothers-in-law, Larry Becker, Gordon Hankins and Tom (Debbie) Hankins and his beloved Dog, Mazie.
William was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Lois Ione and sister, Jaqueline Becker.
