William A. “Bill” Hunt, 82, of Muscatine, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026 at his home. Inurnment will be held in the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery Community Garden Mausoleum at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Bill’s name at the funeral home. Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services is caring for Bill’s arrangements.
William Arthur Hunt was born on March 9, 1944 in Dolliver, Iowa, the son of Melvin Leroy and Clara Elizabeth (Schweitert) Hunt. Bill was a 1962 graduate of Lincoln Central High School and went on to obtain his Bachelor’s Degree from Mankato State. On June 11, 1966, Bill was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Landmesser in Estherville, Iowa, Bill retired from Monsanto in 1999 after 33 years of employment. Bill restored vintage automobiles and enjoyed time spent golfing, and woodworking; building both furniture pieces and carving ducks.
Bill will be deeply missed by his wife, Ruth of Muscatine; three sons, Todd (Deirdre) Hunt of Muscatine, Corey (Tara) Hunt of Moline, Illinois and Dan (Holly) Hunt of Muscatine; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one sister, Helen Mosloski of Fairmont, Minnesota.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Marvin Hunt and one sister, Sarah Meyer.
