Wayne was a Township Trustee for Louisa County.  He served over 21 years on the L-M Community School Board, having served 18 of those years as President.  He was also a Mason and a Shriner.  Wayne enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching Iowa Hawkeye football and basketball, and traveling.

He is survived by his daughters, Lori (Chuck) Sulik of Portage, WI and Mona Barnes of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Kyle (Alexandra) Vertz of Green Bay, WI and Nicholas Vertz of Billings, MT and great-grandson, Wayne Vertz.
