Wanda Sue Bodkins blessed this world on May 8, 1956 in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Hobert and Helen (Blodgett) Bodkins. On July 26, 1997, Wanda was united in marriage to Richard Perkins in Wapello. Wanda worked for the Morning Sun Nursing Home, the Tri-State Envelop Company in Wapello and alongside her husband, Rich owned and operated Thunder Road Liquor. Wanda enjoyed the great outdoors – bird watching, watching the eagles in the wintertime, gardening, all types of animals and mowing. In her younger days she enjoyed horses especially barrel racing. Wanda was a loving soul that was known for her conversation, definitely while enjoying a margarita or two. She had a smile that would light up a anyone’s day. She knew no stranger – especially of the four-legged kind.
Wanda will be deeply missed by her husband, Rich “Perk” Perkins of Wapello; daughter, Bev (Daryn) Harwood of West Burlington and step-daughter, Sierra (Cory) Buchholz of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren, Samantha ( Levi Forbess) Sypherd, Caleb Vorhies, and Issac and Evan Buccholz; great-grandchildren, Nick and Dani Forbes and siblings, Nancy (Jerry) Lankford of Richland, Iowa and Bill (Stephanie) Bodkins of Wellington, Colorado and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Bob, Jim and Kenny and sister, Leona Arnold.
