Wanda Lorene (Illman) Kitch

Wanda Lorene Kitch, 75, of Columbus Junction, IA passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction.  A memorial has been established for Hospice of Washington County.  Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Columbus Junction is caring for the family.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.sandhfuneralservices.com

Wanda was born October 24, 1947 in Canton, IL, the daughter of Richard and Marie (Burton) Illman.  She was united in marriage to James Michael “Mike” Kitch on March 12, 1970 in Dillon, SC.  They shared 50 wonderful years together.

Wanda worked in factories and restaurants in her younger years, later opening her own upholstery business and helping her husband with his trucking company. She enjoyed crocheting and making candy at Christmas for her family. She was very creative and artistic and shared a love of music with her family.

She will be dearly missed by her children: Jimmy (Jenny) Kitch of Quincy, IL; Doug (Jana) Kitch of Center, MO; and Deb Axtell of Columbus Junction; grandchildren: Devin Gibbons, Kendra Gibbons, Tiffany (Cody) Werther, John Strebler, Stephanie Strebler, David (Cassady) Kitch, Jesse (Rene) Kitch, Allijandra  Kitch, and Waylon Kitch; great-grandchildren: Olivia, Piper, Sirena, John, Addyson, and Alice; sister, Linda (Rick) Wamsley of Ft. Madison, IA; brother, Louie Cowen of Bushnell, IL; and sister-in-law, Deb (Gary) Rogers of Mt. Pleasant, IA.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother Terry Illman.
