Wanda Lou Blakley, 84, of Riverside, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at her home. Visitation will be Thursday, September 23, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Riverside. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 24, 2021, at the funeral home. Following the services, interment will be in the Riverside Public Cemetery. Wanda Lou Freeman was born on April 1, 1937, in Buena Vista County, Iowa the daughter of Walter E. and Ruth E. (Salton) Freeman. On December 2, 1956, Wanda was united in marriage to Frank Blakley in Iowa City, Iowa. She was a member of the Riverside United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and cleaned the church for 30 years.
Wanda will be deeply missed by her children, Rebecca Blakley of Wellman, Jacqueline Blakley of Riverside, Franklin D. (Lonnett) Blakley of Riverside, Roger (Bev) Blakley of Wellman and Mark Blakley of Riverside; ex-daughter-in-law, Tamara “Tami” Nealson of Washington; three grandchildren, Amber, Amanda (Deven) and Zack; three step-grandchildren, Betty (Joel), Janice (Michael) and Corinne; sixteen great grandchildren; siblings, Dale A. (Betty) Freeman of Cedar Rapids, and Lettie Reitenmeier of Bigelow, Minnesota.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robbie; twin daughters; brothers, Harry, Marvin, Kenneth, Vinton, John and Ralph and sisters, Beulah Carmichael, Ruthaline Stone and Esther M. Crotty.
