Virginia (Wohlhueter) Martin

Virginia Martin, 85, of Lone Tree, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020, at the Lone Tree Health Care Center.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Lone Tree, formerly the Sorden-Lewis Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be left to the Eastern Star ESTARL Scholarship fund for christian ministry education in memory of Virginia.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.      

Virginia Sherrill Wohlhueter was born on June 15, 1934, in Donnellson, Iowa the daughter of Fred and Freda Wohlhueter.  She graduated from the University of Iowa Nursing Program.  Virginia was united in marriage to Bueford “Jack” Martin on August 10, 1963 in Donnellson, Iowa.  She worked as a nurse for Dr. Dudley Noble, Mercy Hospital, the University of Iowa and the Johnson County Traveling Nurses Program.  Virginia also helped Jack on the farm.  She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was appointed to the state office of Grand Ruth in 1976.  Virginia also enjoyed needle point.

Virginia will be deeply missed by her niece and nephew, cousins, extended family and good friends, the Vincents.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack and her dog, Frtiz.
