Vicki Lynn (Cover) Carlson

Vicki Lynn Carlson, 70 of Des Moines, formerly of Mediapolis; passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines with her beloved family by her side.  Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 10:30 a.m.  at the Mediapolis Global Methodist Church.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation services of Mediapolis.    Memorials may be directed to the Mediapolis Global Methodist Church or to Blood Cancer United in memory of Vicki. Vicki Lynn Carlson was born on August 8, 1955 in Burlington, Iowa to Delbert “Corky” and Helen (Korf) Cover.  She graduated from the Mediapolis High School in 1973 and graduated from AIB in 1974.  Vicki was united in marriage to Don Carlson on March 29, 1975 at the Mediapolis Global Methodist Church.  She was active in the church growing up and after they moved to Des Moines, she taught Sunday School at Grace United Methodist Church.  Vicki loved playing games with her family; ranging from croquet to cribbage and everything in between.  Most of all; Vicki loved her family and looked forward to their monthly family gathering that would start at noon and go until late at night.  Family get togethers wasn’t limited to just holidays.  Vicki ran an in-home daycare for over 20 years and then went on to work for the Iowa Board of Nursing.  

Vicki will be missed by her husband of 50 years, Don; their sons Adam and Clinton; grandson Rory; her father Delbert “Corky (Wanda) Cover; sister Julie (Bryan) Moehle; brothers Randy Cover and Kevin (Melissa) Cover; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mom Helen Johnson; step-father Fritz Johnson and brother Terry Cover.
