Tracey M. Carney-Whitlow, age 62, of Conesville, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022 at her residence. A celebration of life will be held Saturday September 17th at the Columbus Junction American Legion beginning at 4pm. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Tracey. Tracey was born July 6, 1960 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Roy “Mick” and Mary Ellen (Pallischeck) Carney. She graduated from Columbus Junction High School. Tracey was united in marriage to Harold Whitlow on August 19, 2011 in Muscatine.
Tracey was employed as a Para Educator at the Wapello Elementary School. She loved working with the children and was extremely invested in her job. Tracey enjoyed going for cruises, sharing stories, and setting up hilarious pranks. Her greatest joys in life came from time spent with her grandchildren. She cherished their annual sleepovers with toilet papering trips and big foot hunting escapades. Tracey thoroughly enjoyed spending time on the river and evening bonfires with friends and family. She loved her family, friends, and dog Ellie deeply.
She will be missed by her husband, Harold Whitlow of Conesville; children: Matt (Stacy) Storm of Conesville; Joe (Jayme) Storm of Columbus Junction; Aaron Whitlow of Columbus Junction; and Heather Whitlow of Muscatine; grandchildren: Cole and Cade Storm, Gauge and Dakota Storm, Carter, Chance and Christian Colby, Isaac Bravo and Hannah Whitlow; nieces: Meaghan (Kevin) Carney-Buffington of Columbus Junction; Layne (Adam) Bell of Frytown; Morghan Carney of Illinois; Zoie (Chris) Lafew of Illinois; and Sam Carney of Illionis; great-nieces and nephews: Etta Bell and Andy and Ben Smith; and great-great-niece and nephew: Rylan Smith and Baby Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Ann, Barb, Jeff, Joey and Gary.
