Thomas Workman Obituary

Thomas John Workman, 73, of Muscatine, formerly of Wilton, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Aspire Care Center, Muscatine.  A Celebration of life will be held on November 6, 2021 from 1:00 P.M.  to 5:00 P.M. at the Muscatine American Legion Post #27.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Thomas’ name. Thomas John Workman was born on May 31, 1948 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of John “Jack” and Nina (Landon) Workman.  He was a graduate of the Wilton High School Class of 1966 and went on to attend some college classes as well.  Thomas proudly serviced his country in the United States Army from 1968-1970.  In November of 1974, Thomas was united in marriage to Mary (Poole) Hobbs in Muscatine, they later divorced.  He had been employed at L. E. Meyers for many years as a Lineman.  He was a member of the Local I.B.E.W. and the VFW.  He enjoyed watching ALL Iowa Hawkeye sports, playing cards and traveling. 

Thomas will be missed by his daughter, Alison “Ali” Welcher and significant other, Pat Henderson of New London; two grandsons, Tate and Linken Welcher; sister, Connie Brown and husband, Jim of Wilton and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. 

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents.
