Thomas Elliott

Thomas E. Elliott, 70, of Muscatine, IA passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, IA surrounded by his family.  Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery. Cremation rights have been accorded. Anderson Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the arrangements.  Local arrangements by Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine. Tom was born May 3, 1952 to Edwin L “Ted” and Evelyn (Gritton) Elliott. He attended Muscatine High School getting his GED while he was in the service. He served in the US Army from 1970 to 1972. He was awarded medals for National Defense Service and Good Conduct. Tom also received sharp shooter training on an M-16 and wheeled and tracked vehicles. Tom graduated from Muscatine Community College’s welding program, and went on to work at various factories in Muscatine, Philadelphia, PA, and Florida. Tom was a free spirit and lived life on his own terms.

Tom is survived by two sisters; Barb Musgrove of Muscatine, and Juanita Bass of Wilton, one brother, Steve (Chris) Harfst of Muscatine, four nephews; Mike, Marvin, and Melvin Carpenter, and Matt Sheese, and two nieces; Moni Mielke and Missi DeVan. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Sandra Carpenter, and one nephew, Mark Sheese.
