Theodore McKee Obituary

Theodore McKee, 96, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Pinnacle Memory Care in Muscatine.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine.  Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2nd at Ss. Mary Mathias Catholic Church.  Private family burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with Military Honors.  Memorials may be made to Ss. Mary Mathias Catholic Church, Muscatine Humane Society or St. Croix Hospice in Ted’s name. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Theodore Franklin McKee was born on October 23, 1927 in Muscatine, Iowa the son of Theodore McKee and Frances (Beveridge) McKee Flanery. Ted was a graduate of Todd School and Muscatine Community College. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Diane Walsh on February 14, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ted was the owner and operator of the McKee Button Factory.  He was a member of Ss. Mary Mathias Parish, Geneva Country Club and the Elks. Ted served on the board at First National Bank, was involved with the swim team and the Button Manufacturing Organization. Ted was an avid golfer, enjoying fishing, boating, flying airplanes, the Lake of the Ozarks and family time. 

Ted will be deeply missed by his children, John “Jay” McKee and his wife, Lisa of Austin, Texas, James “Jim” McKee and his wife, Chris, of Muscatine, Margo Hamsher and her husband, Mike of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Madeleine Eagle and her husband, Terry of Lakewood Ranch, Florida; 15 grandchildren, Shawn Young, Ted McKee, Madeleine Fidler, Jamee Jenen, JT McKee, Adrienne McKee, Mallory Sims, M. Elyse Manzer, Emily Kluska, Colin McKee, Michael Hamsher, Dylan Eagle, Dee McKee, Scott McKee and Ian McKee and 17 great-grandchildren.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Diane; son, Mark McKee; brother, James McKee and; nephews, Ted McKee and Jeff McKee.
