Terry Gene Edwards

Terry Gene Edwards, 83, of Muscatine, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at UnityPoint Trinity-Muscatine Hospital.  A private celebration of life with family will be held at a later date. Terry was born on July 22, 1941 to Glen and Dorothy “Dolly” Edwards and grew up on their farm in Cotter near Columbus Junction.  He attended a small country school in Cotter and was a graduate of Cotter High School.  Terry was drafted into the Marines during Vietnam and served two years at Camp Lejune.  He worked at Thatcher Plastics in Muscatine before and after his military service. Later, he became a union representative for the International Chemical Worker’s Union until he retired.  Terry enjoyed boating on the Mississippi, camping, fishing, and grilling out with family and friends.  Over the years, he dabbled in wine-making, wood-working, photography, hunting and golfing.  Terry had an easy-going sense of humor and loved to be around people. He was a welcomed addition to any gathering.

He will be missed by his son, Steven (Remy) Edwards of Muscatine; step-children: Jeff (Jodi) Jones of Muscatine, Shelley Jones (Bob) Clark of Johnston, Terry (Cathy) Nienhaus, Steve Nienhaus and Chris (Jen) Nienhaus and nephews, Tom Edwards and Harry Edwards.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dick (Tootie) Edwards.
