Ted Browning

Ted Browning, 82, of Jefferson, Iowa, formerly of Muscatine passed away on Sunday, September 20. 2026 at Regency Care Center in Jefferson.  Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Conesville Cemetery.  A time of food and fellowship will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Fruitland Community Center.     A memorial has been established for the family in Ted’s name. Clayton Theodore Browning was born on December 1, 1943, in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of Emmel and Hilda (Kane) Browning.   He was united in marriage to Betty Blackman on June 12, 1992 in Iowa City.  Ted worked for over 30 years on the paint line at HON Industries. 

Ted will be deeply missed by his wife, Betty; children, Toy Browning, Jack Cozad, Carolyn Hidlebaugh and William Cozad; brother, Larry Browning and nieces and nephews.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tinker Browning, Raymond Cozad, Rick Cozad, Sara Griffin and Sheila Gray and siblings, Patricia Snyder and Nancy Conaway.
