Tara Hoyle Obituary

Tara Ann Hoyle, 44, of Columbus Junction passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at her home.  Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Columbus Junction.   Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at the funeral home.  Attendees are asked to dress casually or to wear their “Team Tara” T-Shirts.   Burial will be in Columbus City Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life for Tara will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Louisa County Youth Center located at the fairgrounds in Columbus Junction.  A memorial has been established for the Special Education Department at L&M Elementary School in Tara’s name.    Online condolences may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com. 

Tara Ann Deaton was born on February 19, 1981 in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of James and Peggy (Oakes) Deaton.  Tara was a 1999 graduate of Columbus Community High School. She went on to graduate from the University of Northern Iowa with a double major in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Development with a minor in Special Education.  On September 15, 2007, Tara was united in marriage to Jason Hoyle at the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church.  Since graduation from college Tara has worked and was currently working as a teacher for L-M Elementary School.  She had also worked at Bud’s Custom Meats since the age of seventeen.  Her passion was caring for others; she will be greatly missed for her kindness she shared with everyone.  Tara loved having her sister as her next-door neighbor and enjoyed making shirts, kayaking, working along-side her husband raising honey bees, taking walks on their property and along the country roads, traveling together and visiting Lake Belva Deer Park each year.  She was a member of the Columbus City United Methodist Church and the Legion Auxiliary.  

Tara will be deeply missed by her husband, Jason and children, Tylor (Jocelyn) Hoyle and Alyssah (Buddy) Hoyle; grandchildren Zayla, Zavoni, Cailor, Kashton and Zakari; her mother, Peggy Deaton; her father, James Deaton; brother, William (Wendy) Deaton and their children, Maya, Liam and Lyla; identical twin sister, Sara (Jeff) Wellington and their children, Jensen and Tenley; mother-in-law, Donna (Beryl) Rugg; father-in-law, Stan Clingan; brothers and sisters in law, Dennis (Pamela) Carr, Natasha Schmitter, Lindy Clingan and Justin (Marissa) Clingan and several nieces and nephews.

Tara was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bill Oakes, Bettie Oakes, Chasley and Delores “Ann” Williams; uncle Joe Oakes and aunt, Jane Oakes.
