Stephanie Lear Obituary

Stephanie Lear, 56, of Nichols, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the University of Iowa Health Medical Center Downtown Iowa City.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Riverside V.F.W. Post 6414.  Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Stephanie’s name.  Online condolences may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Lone Tree is caring for Stephanie’s family and arrangements.

Stephanie LeAnn Lear was born on July 6, 1968, in Macomb, Illinois the daughter of Richard and Rita (Chenoweth) Lear.  She was a 1987 graduate of Highland High School and received her CNA Certification.  On October 8, 1989, Shephanie was united in marriage to Daniel Schneider at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Riverside and later divorced.  She was united in marriage to Mark Sprout on  March 5, 2011  in Conesville.  Stephanie worked at the Lone Tree Health Care Center and was an anesthesia tech at the University of Iowa.  She volunteered for many events, including, cooking for the V.F.W. in Riverside for the fish fries and trap shoots, making veteran baskets for auctions, and helping the Shriners.  Stephanie loved visiting with friends, spending time with family and her dog, Dozer. 

Stephanie will be deeply missed by her husband, Mark of Nichols; her three sons, Cody (Brittnee) Schneider of Riverside, Kyle (Katrina) Schneider of Riverside and Colton (Peyton) Schneider of Riverside; four grandchildren, Levi, Emma, Dean and Aria; parents, Richard and Rita Lear of Riverside and sisters, Laura (Dan) Striegel of Riverside, Lisa (Dean) Humke of Ackley and Dixie (Andy) Abbott of Lone Tree and brother-in-law, Casey Drake of Concord, North Carolina.

Stephanie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe and Leona Lear and Melvin and Virginia Chenoweth and one sister, Michelle Drake.
