Shirley Tomfeld, 85, of Letts, passed away on April 2, 2021 at Wapello Specialty Care. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Shirley. The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Columbus Junction is caring for the family. Shirley Marie Quigley was born September 16, 1935 in Fairfield, IA, the daughter of Harry and Lela (Portoff) Quigley. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Tomfeld in 1953 in Rotling, New Mexico. Shirley worked at Quigley Grocery and later at Louis Rich for over 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching her grandchildren's sporting events, gardening, cooking, and entertaining. You would rarely find her without a beautiful smile on her face.
Shirley will be deeply missed by her children, Cindy (Randy) Wood of Columbus Junction, Steve (Pam) Tomfeld of Cranston; grandchildren, Abby (Andy) White and Matt (Barb) Wood; great- grandchildren, Libby and Payton White, Wyatt and Briley Wood and brother, Max Quigley of Wapello.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings. Pauline Rodgers, Charles Quigley, Velma Tisor, and Sandy Davis.
