Shirley A. Rogers, 86, of Nichols passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center Downtown. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Nichols Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Shirley. Shirley Ann Janssen was born on July 2, 1938, in Freeport, Illinois the daughter of Simon and Myrtle (Curboy) Janssen. She was a 1956 graduate of Chadwick High School in Illinois. Shirley worked for Louis Rich in West Liberty for 30 years. She enjoyed music, dancing, drinking hot tea and watching Wheel of Fortune, but most of all, Shirley loved to spend time with family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Shirley will be deeply missed by her children, Cheryl Rogers of Nichols, Lonnie Rogers of Muscatine, Rodney Rogers of Muscatine, Lorrie (Perry) Walker of Atalissa, Dawn Rogers of Keokuk, Natalie (Kirk) Mills of Nichols and Brent Rogers of Muscatine; 28 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren and sister, Linda (Bob) Dick of Stockton, Illinois.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; sons-in-law, Joe Hutchinson, Timothy Mills and David Thomas; daughter-in-law, Antoinette Rogers; four grandchildren; one brother, John Janssen and four sisters, Lois Cromwell, Marilyn Herbig, Eileen Krull and Donna Janssen.
