Shirley Jean (Hills) Buline

Shirley Buline, 98, of Lone Tree, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at her home in Lone Tree.  Visitation will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Lone Tree.  Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Hospice of Washington County.  Online condolences may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Shirley Hills was born on May 15, 1926, in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Ira and Dorothy (Fountain) Hills.  Shirley was united in marriage to Archie Buline on March 14, 1946 in Iowa City.  She worked at Sobaski Carpets, the Outpatient Department at the University of Iowa and was a teachers aide at Lone Tree Schools.  Shirley was raised on the family farm.  She enjoyed dancing, going to the casino, and taking care of her garden and flowers beds.  Shirley was a member of the neighborhood card club and bridge club.  Most of all, she loved being with her family.    

Shirley will be deeply missed by her children; Patty (Ken) DeGood of Iowa City; Lyle (Linda) Buline of Lone Tree; son-in-law, Darryl Thomas of Riverside; grandchildren, Todd (Missy) Thomas, Wynnette (Tony) Slaymaker, Shawn (Kim) DeGood and Matt (Christa) DeGood; 12 great-grandchildren, and sister, Donna Trent of North Liberty.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughters, Sandy Thomas and Kathy Buline; granddaughters, Lynnel Thomas and Melinda Tripses and five siblings.
