Shelly Danner Galbraith, 49, of Ohio and formerly of Muscatine and Illinois City, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, May 5, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Private family services will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established for Shelly’s daughters’ education. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.
Shelly Ann Danner was born on August 5, 1973 in Muscatine, the daughter of Bob and Lynn (Grady) Danner. Shelly graduated from Rockridge High School in 1991, went on to attended Muscatine Community College and Sinclair Junior College in Ohio. She graduated from the Aveda school in Dayton, Ohio and where she received her degree to begin a career as an esthetician. Shelly previously was married to Adam Galbraith. She loved to bake, have parties for her girls and care for her pets. Shelly found true love in these last few years when she reconnected with an old friend, Russ Marlin. Russ deeply cared for Shelly and her family. Above all Shelly’s greatest love and enjoyment was the time she spent with her girls, Bailey and Diana.
Shelly will be dearly missed by her daughters, Bailey Galbraith and Diana Galbraith of Ohio; her parents, Bob and Lynn Danner of Illinois City; brother, Tyson Danner of Davenport; maternal grandmother, Patricia Grady of Muscatine; paternal grandmother, Phyllis Danner Snyder of Illinois City; the love of her life, Russ Marlin and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Shelly was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Verle Grady; paternal grandfather, Elmer Danner; uncles, Kyle Grady and Merle Danner and cousin, Cody Grady.
Shelly was able to give the gift of life through organ donation. The family encourages everyone to become an organ donor in memory of Shelly.
