Shelley Lou (Hayes) Honts

Shelley Lou Honts, 61, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Lutheran Living.  A graveside service will be held on Wednesday,  May 1, 2024 at 10:30 A.M. at Island Cemetery.  Following the service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Fruitland Community Center.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Shelley’s name. Shelley Lou Hayes was born on July 17, 1962 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Alva and Betty (Canaan) Hayes.  She was united in marriage to Larry Honts and later divorced.  Shelley obtained her CNA certification and spent many years in that field.  She was a member of the Jesus Mission Church  and enjoyed crafting, crocheting, beading, doing word searches, getting together with her siblings and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. 

Shelley will be missed by her son, Brad (Julie) Honts of Muscatine; eight grandchildren, William O’Neal, Zechariah (Katie Lett) O’Neal, Devlin O’Neal, Mary (Lofton Morgan) O’Neal, Isaac O’Neal, Cole Honts, James Honts and Shooter Honts; four great grandchildren, Xandon O’Neal, Court O’Neal, Ares Morgan and Elijah Morgan and one more on the way; siblings, William Hayes, Barry Hayes, Mike (Patty) Hayes,  Donny (Corrina) Hayes, Terry (Cindy) Hayes, Jane (Richard) Roush and Kim (Terry) Hazen. 

Shelley was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Shannon
