Sharon Kay Whitehorn, 71, of Wapello, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025 peacefully at her home with her family at her side. Private family services will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established for the First Presbyterian Church of Wapello in Sharon's name. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservices.com. She was born June 2, 1953 in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of Lewis “Luke” Albert and Mazie Louise Heater Kammerer. She was a 1971 graduate of Wapello. She was united in marriage to Ronald Whitehorn on February 19, 1972. She had worked at the Louisa County Care Facility and Walmart Distribution Center; She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wapello where she served as an elder.
She enjoyed travelling, spending time with family, and watching eagles.
She is survived by her husband Ronald, 2 sons; Michael of Wapello, Iowa, Nathan (Stephanie) of Dixon, Missouri; 2 Grandchildren, Vanessa and Andrew both of Dixon, Missouri; 2 Great-Grandchildren Colton and Alana both of Dixon, Missouri; 1 Brother Gerald (Diana) of Morning Sun, Iowa; 2 Sisters, Janet Hilde of Casper, Wyoming and Karen Yakle of Wapello, Iowa
She was preceded in death by her parents Mazie Louise and “Luke”, a brother, Bruce.
