Shannon Baas, 58, of Burlington, died on Monday, February, 10 2025 at Wapello Specialty Care.  Private services will be held at a later date.  The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Wapello is caring for Shannon. Shannon Baas was born on December 17, 1966, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the daughter of Veryl and Shirley (McGinnis) Baas. After college she traveled to the east coast where she was employed as a nanny for a number of families. After returning to Iowa she worked at a call center in the Sioux City, Iowa area. She developed a travel bug and ventured west working for Xanterra Parks and Resorts where she was stationed at various United States National Parks. She loved to read, do word puzzles and explore the world via researching on the web.

Shannon will be deeply missed by her mother, Shirley (Darrel) Leverenz of Emmetsburg, Iowa her brothers, Rick (Kris) Baas of Ayrshire, Iowa; Stacy (Angie) Baas of Spencer, Iowa; and Mike (Dina) Baas of LeMars, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her father Veryl Baas of Wallingford, IA.
