Scott Alan Griffey

Scott A. Griffey, 51, of Muscatine, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics surrounded by his family.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.  Following the committal service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Community Room.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Scott.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Scott Alan Griffey was born on October 9, 1974, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of James Owen Griffey and Pansy Mae Hays.  He was a graduate of Muscatine High School and attained his Associates Degree from Eastern Iowa Community College.  Scott was a mechanic and musician throughout life.  He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed playing guitars, fishing, household projects, remodeling and helping others, but most of all he loved to spend time with family.  Scott was a proud father and grandfather. 

Scott will be deeply missed by his children, Brittany Stuart and fiancé, Jake Goetzman of Muscatine, Joshua Alan Griffey of Muscatine, Isaiah James Griffey of Muscatine and Elijah Lee Griffey of Iowa City; grandchild, Kennedy Goetzman; siblings, Bill of Muscatine, Jay Griffey of Muscatine, Debbie (Wayne) Morse of Bettendorf, Jackie (Marvin) Brockert of Muscatine, Patty (Jimmy) Griffen of Cairo, GA and Debbie Jones of Lakeland, FL and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Kevin, Brian and Jimmy.
