Sarah E. Forbes

Sarah E. Forbes, 44, of Conesville passed away Monday, January 12, 2026 at Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 4-7 P.M. at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Columbus Junction. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials in Sarah’s name may be made to the Special Olympics of Eastern Iowa.

Sarah Eileen Forbes was born on July 28, 1981 in San Diego, California, the daughter of Bernard and Sandra (Northridge) Forbes. Sarah never let anything bring her down; she excelled at bowling and was on the Special Olympics of Eastern Iowa team for golfing. She enjoyed spending time outside fishing and camping and loved doing crafts. Sarah also enjoyed listening to Elvis and would always ask to listen to his music whenever she went for car rides.

Those left to honor her memory are her father Bernard; brothers Michael (Courtney) and Josh (Erin) Forbes; nieces and nephews Arya, Ainslee, Liam, Lucielle, Adriel, and Montgomery; aunts and uncles Joyce Clubb, Gary Forbes, Nancy Lewis, Steve Forbes, Doug Forbes, Sandi Slater, Tina Fountain, Judy Forbes, Cindy Forbes, and Donnie Bean; along with many beloved cousins.

Sarah was preceded in death by her mother Sandra Forbes; brother James Forbes; nephews Acheron and Alaric Forbes; uncles Jim Forbes, John Forbes, Gerald Clubb, Gary Lewis, Vic Miller, and Gene Slater; aunts Bonnie Forbes, Debbie Bean, and Sheila Miller; paternal grandparents Jim and Doris Forbes, paternal great-grandparents Verne and Ida Forbes, and maternal great-grandparents Jess and Ada Mitchell.
