Sandra Kay (Lake) Schaaf

Sandra (Lake) Schaaf, 68, of Muscatine, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Fairport Cemetery.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Sandra.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com  The Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine is caring for Sandra’s family and arrangements.

Sandra Kay Lake was born June 29, 1953 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph and Lottie Mae (Grayson) Lake.  She was united in marriage to John Schaaf on March 28, 1986 in Muscatine.  Sandra worked at various restaurants, as a custodian at Muscatine Community Schools and transported prisoners.  She was known as the “Ghost Lady” at Muscatine High School.  Sandra enjoyed camping and being outdoors.  She loved taking care of her dogs and most of all, spending time with her family.

Sandra will be deeply missed by her husband, John of Muscatine; children, Amanda (Jason) Kleppe of Tipton, John (Dee) Schaaf Jr. of Buffalo, MO; grandchildren, Skylore, Colby, Emily, Jessie and Cassie; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Johnny (Jane) Lake of Muscatine, Kennith Lake of Janesville, Wisconsin, David Lake of Muscatine, JoAnn Grayson of El Paso, Texas and Sharon Strande of St. Paul, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Marina Sue Lake, Janice Lynn Garcia, Lisa Ann Lake, Barbara Jean Carlton, Ronnie Lake, Dennis Flynn, Thomas Spitznogle and Roger Lake.
