Rubyann (Haynes) Weber

Rubyann Weber, age 98, died at home on Saturday February 1, 2025.  Rubyann was a resident of Solon, Iowa since 2011.  Prior to that, she and her family were long-time residents of Columbus Junction, Iowa.

Born on March 22, 1926 in Hastings, NE where she resided with her parents Elgin and Fern (Woods) Haynes.  Rubyann graduated from Colorado Women’s College in 1946 with a Fine Arts Major before returning to Hastings, NE where she was employed by the Hastings Tribune as a graphic artist.   Rubyann married Gerald (Jerry) Weber on May 1, 1950 in Hastings, NE.  Jerry predeceased Rubyann on January 17, 2012.

Rubyann is remembered for her paintings, sewing, and cooking/baking.  She loved to read and loved to travel.

Rubyann is survived by her 7 children: Stephanie (Mark, deceased) Axthelm of Gothenburg, NE, Michele (Harry) Preste of Cedar Lake, IN, Joel (Cathy) Weber of Balwin, MO, Tim (Joan) Weber of Lincoln, NE, Duane (Dave Ryan) Weber of Philadelphia, PA, Annetta (Mark) Luevano of Los Angeles, CA, and Zanetta (Neil) Hoehle of Solon, IA.  Rubyann is also survived by 13 grandchildren; Jamie (JoEllen), Jenny (Steve), Jon (Ilan), Cai (Andrew), Daniel (Amy), Andrew, Adam, Andrew, Terrence, Paul, Rachel (Tyler), Simon, and Samantha (Adam) and 11 great-grandchildren; Alexa (Kevin ) , Ander, MacKenzie (James), Sydney (Taylor), Abbie (Trace), Gabriel, Julia, Grant, Nora, Beckett, and Isabel.

A private service for family only will be held at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Columbus Junction on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.  Interment will immediately follow at Columbus City Cemetery.
