Rosemarie V. Paul, 96, of Muscatine, peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at Zion Lutheran Church, Muscatine. Committal will be held in the Zion Lutheran Church Columbarium. After the service, a time of light refreshments will be held in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Riverbend Food Pantry or the MCSA in Rosemarie’s name (https://www.mcsaiowa.org). Rosemarie V. Paul was born on January 16, 1927, in Frankfurt, Germany. After World War II she studied and became a nurse in Munich where she met her soon to be husband, Richard V. Paul. Rosemarie, her husband, and small daughter immigrated to the United States and became naturalized citizens and were blessed with a second daughter shortly after. Rosemarie worked as an R.N. at Muscatine General Hospital for 33 years. She volunteered with the Hospital Auxiliary, Salvation Army, Meal on Wheels, and the American Red Cross. Rosemarie was a member of Zion Lutheran. She was an avid reader and global traveler. She was known by her friends to be an amazing hostess with a deft hand for cooking and frequent entertaining. Rosemarie built a home that was full of love, friendship, and always great food.
Rosemarie will be deeply missed by her daughters, Dagmar Lacy of Muscatine and Dr. Karen B. Paul of St. Paul, Minnesota; granddaughter, Heather R. Boldt of Muscatine and great-grandson, Paul Boldt of Muscatine.
Rosemarie was preceded in death by her husband. Richard V. Paul in 2002.
