Ronnie Gadbaw Obituary

Ronnie Gadbaw, 74, of Burlington, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2020, at his home. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Wapello Cemetery with military rites. Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Wapello, formerly The Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home is caring for the family.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Ronnie.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com. 

 

Ronnie Gene Gadbaw was born March 28, 1946, in Yarmouth, the son of James and Martha (Wilson) Gadbaw. He married Katie Lederer and the couple later divorced.  Ronnie served his country in the United States Navy and later, the Iowa National Guard.  He retired from the National Guard as a Staff Sergeant responsible for all Emergency Care and Operating the Battalion Aid Station after 20 years of service.  Ronnie was employed as a Prison Guard in Fort Madison and Mount Pleasant Correctional Facilities until his retirement.

 

He will be deeply missed by his children, Bill Gadbaw of Des Moines, Matthew Gadbaw of Burlington, Amanda Gadbaw of Washington; grandchildren, Johnathon, Hailey and Chelsea Gadbaw; siblings, Betty Williams of Wapello, Bonnie Kimble of Morning Sun and Robert Gadbaw of Burlington.

 

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Sharon and Karen in infancy and Shirley Gadbaw.
