Ronald Cox Obituary

Ron E. Cox, 72, of Salem, Iowa formerly of Moulton, Iowa died Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Southeast Iowa Hospice House in West Burlington.  A Celebration of Life for Ron will from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2022 in the Mercy Room at the Honey Creek Resort, 12633 Resort Drive, Moravia, Iowa.   A lantern launch will follow at 8:00 p. m. that evening at Honey Creek at Lake Rathbun.     A memorial has been established for Southeast Iowa Hospice House.  Sympathy messages can be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Wapello are caring for Ron’s arrangements and his family. 

Ron Edward Cox was born on March 25, 1950 in Moulton, Iowa the son of Elmer Lee and Mary Ellen (McConville) Cox.  Ron was a 1968 graduate of Moulton-Udell High School.  On March 25, 1972, Ron married Linda Hetzler, to this union they had one daughter Natalie (Cox) Jordan.  Ron was an avid baseball and basketball player in high school.  He was a longtime famer and later had a hay/straw business. He loved pheasant and quail hunting, fishing and watching sports. 

Survivors included Linda Cox from Salem, Iowa; daughter, Natalie (Travis) Jordan of Donnellson, Iowa; two granddaughters, Jacklyn Goodman of Mediapolis, Iowa and Annalise Goodman of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; siblings, John (Gloria) Cox of Tucson, AZ, Nancy (Larry) Lynch of Bloomfield, IA, Margaret “Muffi” Elaine Harmon of Muscatine and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Lee and Mary Ellen Cox and brother-in-law, Dan Harmon.
