Ronald Edwin Conklin

Ronald E. Conklin, 76, of Muscatine, passed on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at his home in Muscatine.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine with military rites at 12:00 p.m.  Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Muscatine American Legion from 12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Online condolences may be left for the family at sandhfuneralservice.com.

Ronald Edwin Conklin was born on January 30, 1950, in Muscatine, Iowa the son of Arlyn E. and Joyce A. (Ranes) Conklin.  He was a graduate of Muscatine High School.  On June 6, 1970, Ronald was united in marriage to Sharon Kay Strong in Muscatine.  Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Navy from June 4, 1969 – March 31, 1989.  While in the Navy, Ronald attained his Associate’s Degree, was an Advanced X-Ray Technician for 14 years and a Field Medical Technician for 3 years.  Once out of the Navy, he worked at UnityPoint Health in Muscatine and later MercyOne Genesis Aledo Medical Center as a Radiology Technician.  Ronald enjoyed fishing and gambling, but most of all, he loved to spend time with his family, especially the grandchildren.

Ronald will be deeply missed by his wife, Sharon of Muscatine; his children, Jennifer Conklin of Muscatine; special family friend, Melissa Rackow of Muscatine; grandchildren Caden Roberts and Makayla Conklin; siblings, Mary Lou Garrison of Iowa City, Roger E. (Lori) Conklin of Muscatine, Randy R. Conklin of Moscow, Carol L. (Mike) Hampton of Muscatine, Nancy K. Conklin of Muscatine and Michael W. Conklin of Muscatine and many nieces and nephews.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Arlyn and Joyce and sister, Joyce Conklin.
