Roger Campbell Obituary

Roger Campbell, 90, of Mediapolis, passed away on June 1, 2021 at Prairie Ridge Care Center in Mediapolis.  Private services will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the Oakville United Methodist Church or the Mediapolis Ambulance Service.  The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Mediapolis is caring for the family.  Sympathy notes may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Roger was born August 11, 1930 to Kenneth C. and Katherine (Ellenson) Campbell in Oakville, IA.  He graduated from Oakville High School in 1948 where he loved playing on the baseball team and began his passion for following the Chicago Cubs.  He also drove a bus for the school during his high school years.  Roger was a lifelong member of the Oakville United Methodist Church where he married Frances JoAnne Ball on June 26, 1954.  He spent many years as an usher for the church and was active in the local 4-H program for years as a leader, all the while pursuing his dream of farming.  Following his retirement from farming, Roger assisted at the Dudgeon-McCulley and Hagle and Honts Funeral Homes for many years.

Roger is survived by his wife of 66 years, JoAnne; two children, Doug Campbell of Mediapolis, IA and Nancy Campbell of West Branch, IA; brother, Keith (Diane) Campbell of Sperry, IA; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara (Skip) Price; brother, John (Joyce) Campbell and infant brother, Richard.  Also close to Roger’s heart were his uncles/brothers, Bruce, Ed and Bob Ream.

Roger will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
