Rodney Richard Ricklefs

Rodney Ricklefs, 64, of Lake Orion, Michigan, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2022, at St. Joseph Mercy in Pontiac, Michigan.  Visitation will be Friday, January 28, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine.  Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Oakgrove Cemetery near Cranston.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Rodney.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com

Rodney Richard Ricklefs was born on September 8, 1957, in Muscatine, Iowa the son of Richard F. Ricklefs and JoAnn Goddard-Plett.  He was a graduate of Muscatine High School.  On April 4, 1997, Rodney was united in marriage to Linda McCabe in Muscatine.  Rodney worked for the Water Resource Commission for Oakland County for 21 years.  He enjoyed driving, Happy Joe’s Specialty Pizza, fishing, playing baseball in his youth and sharing stories, but most of all, Rodney loved to spend time with his family, especially the grandchildren.    

Rodney will be missed by his wife, Linda of Lake Orion, Michigan; children, Henry (Jace) Ricklefs of Muscatine, Rachele Ricklefs and Danielle Ricklefs, both of Lake Orion; mother, JoAnn (Paul) Plett of Muscatine; five grandchildren; sibling, Susan (Daniel) Sutera of Muscatine and William (Kochell) Ricklefs of Dunkerton, Wesley (Sharon) Plett of Letts, Darwin (Vickie) Plett of Muscatine and step-sister, Vickie (Mike) Craig of Peoria, Illinois.

Rodney was preceded in death by his father, Richard; grandson, Leo Ricklefs; sister, Desiree (Jim) Belzer and step-mother, Arlene Ricklefs .
