Roberta A. Cunningham, 86, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at her home. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Walnut Park Baptist Church. Immediately following the visitation, funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Illinois City Cemetery. Following the committal services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Walnut Park Baptist Church in memory of Roberta. Roberta Adelaide Wiggins was born on June 9, 1935, in Rock Island, Illinois, the daughter of Robert C. and Evelyn A. (Matney) Wiggins. She was a graduate of Wilton High School. On August 29, 1954, Roberta was united in marriage to Irwin L. Cunningham in Muscatine. She worked at Service Advantage out of Minnesota in marketing, dietary aide at Lutheran Home in Muscatine and housekeeping at the Cantebury Inn in Muscatine. She was a member of the Walnut Park Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting, sewing, crossword puzzles, murder mysteries, watching Let’s Make A Deal and going to Bible Study at Calvary Church, but most of all she dearly loved to spend time with her family.
Roberta will be deeply missed by her children, David M. (Lisa) Cunningham of Muscatine, Debra Cunningham of Missouri, Sarah E. (Robert) Landreth of Arkansas, Thomas I. Cunningham of Muscatine, Rhonda J. Ziegenhorn of Muscatine and Karen J. (Jeff) Crose of Illinois City; 13 grandchildren, many great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and siblings, David Sylvester of Chicago and Eleanore Bleck of California.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; foster parents, John and Helen Stewart and Leo and Frances Healy; husband; daughter, Julie Morgan; granddaughter, Jaynie Crose and one brother, James Wiggins.
