Robert “Bob” S. McCleary, 75, of Muscatine passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at his home. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Following the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held in the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Community Room. Memorials may be directed to the Musser Public Library in Bob’s name. Robert S. McCleary was born on June 21, 1950 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Leo David and Mildred (Howard) McCleary. Bob was a 1967 graduate of Muscatine High School; went on to attend Muscatine Community College and graduated from The University of Iowa in 1972 with his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Labor Relations. In 1986, Bob was united in marriage to Eleanor “Lynn” Barrington in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Bob began his working career in the engineering division of Monsanto Co. and had also dabbled in construction for Jones Construction Company. Bob spent the majority of his career with Bandag Inc. working as a supervisor and at last retired from Norris Motor Sports. Bob was a very active member of his high school class reunion committee and spent a lot of his free time studying investment opportunities. Bob enjoyed collecting coins and Ertl diecast vehicle banks.
Bob will be deeply missed by his wife, Eleanor “Lynn” McCleary of Muscatine; many cousins including Terry McCleary, Larry McCleary and Leo McCleary and several friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard McCleary.
