Rebecca Ellen Gerst

Rebecca Gerst, 70, of Mediapolis, passed away Friday, May 23, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.  Private services will be held at a later date.  The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Mediapolis is caring for the family.  Online condolences may be left at  www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Rebecca Ellen Gerst was born April 11, 1955 in Burlington, the daughter of Roger and Dorothy “Dot” (Malcom) Gerst.  She worked as a paralegal in Burlington and California.  Rebecca was very artistic and enjoyed scrapbooking, genealogy, taking care of her house and lawn and cheering on her St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Lakers.  She took great pride in being organized and was one of the kindest people you would ever meet.

She will be deeply missed by her son, Zachary (Brittany) Gerst of Burlington; brothers, Rod (Kate) Gerst and Marty (Brenda) Gerst, all of Burlington; nieces, Carolyn Gerst of Olathe, Kansas, Shelby (Michelle) Gerst of Greer, SC and Molly Gerst of Burlington.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a niece-in-infancy.
