Raymond Eugene Allison

Gene Allison, 92, of Muscatine passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Lutheran Living with his son Andrew and his beloved Hawkeyes by his side. Funeral Services are 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services in Muscatine.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.  Memorials may be left to Fruitland Baptist Church or Hospice Compassus in memory of Gene.  Condolences may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  

Raymond Eugene Allison was born on November 22, 1930 in Muscatine, the son of Raymond Alfred and Vivian Irene (Meeker) Allison.  He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1949 to 1953, serving overseas in Guam.  Gene was united in marriage to Marilyn “Kay” Lamp on July 6, 1954 in Muscatine.  She preceded him in death on September 15, 1993.  He and his brother Loren started Allison Brothers, Inc in 1969.  Gene was a contract painter and retired in 1998.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Fruitland Baptist Church for many years and a past member of the Moose Lodge.  Gene enjoyed hunting for black raspberries and mushrooms.  He was an avid Muskie and Hawkeye fan.  Gene loved his pets and spending time with his family.    

Gene will be deeply missed by his children, Alexis (Tim) Warren of Wilton, Andrew (Susan) Allison of Muscatine and Matthew (Tammy) Allison of Oak Grove, MO; grandchildren, Alison (Paul) Sanfilippo, Adrianne (Jeff) Banks, Jacob (Anna) Allison, Miles (Amber) Allison, Paige (Michael) Haller and Gage Allison; great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Emma Kay and Maria; brother, Gary (Lynn) Allison of Letts and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kay and brother, Loren Allison.
