Randall “Chewy” Skubal, 71, of Columbus Junction, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at his home. Per Randall’s request cremation rites have been accorded and no services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Randall’s name may be made to the family. Randall Skubal was born on January 12, 1955 in Muscatine, the son of Ronald and Jewel (Shaw) Skubal. He was united in marriage to Renate Schrier on December 31, 1983, at the Methodist Church in Columbus Junction. Chewy worked for the Local Union 25 Plumber & Pipefitters right out of high school until his retirement in 2010. He was a member of the local Shriner’s. Chewy enjoyed cheering on both the Cubs and Bears. Most of all he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren as they were the light of his life.
Chewy will be deeply missed by his wife Renate; daughters, Briana Skubal and Amanda Skubal both of Columbus Junction; grandchildren, Harley, Gabe, and Jade; nieces Raciel, Jenna, Stevie, Hailey, Gracie; nephew Scott; aunt Opal Miller; and many close cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ronald and Jewel; and siblings Rick, Chris, and Vickie.
