Ramona G. (McDowell) Dingus

Ramona G. Dingus, 92, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Lutheran Living.   Per her wishes, no visitation or services will be held at this time.  Inurnment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Ramona’s name. Ramona Geraldine McDowell was born on March 10, 1933 in Salem, Iowa, the daughter of R.G. and Gladys Pearl (Glover) McDowell.   She had been united in marriage to Richard Dingus and later divorced.  Ramona retired from Thatcher Tubes at the age of 62 just prior to the company closing its doors.  She then continued to stay busy working in the linen department of J.C. Penney’s and later truly retiring after a short while at the Salvation Army.  She enjoyed reading, dabbling in cross-stitch and was a wonderful baker.  She was also an avid animal lover, always having cats and dogs around the house.

Ramona will be deeply missed by her children, Richard (Diana) Dingus, Jr of Muscatine, Mark (DeeDee) Dingus of Tampa, Florida and Teresa Dingus of Garland, Texas; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren with one more on the way .

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sheryl; two brothers, E.H. “Jiggs” McDowell and Junior McDowell and three sisters, Irma McDonald, Pauline Curry, and Clara Littell.
