Phillip Wade Watson, 68, of Wapello, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 at the Great River Medical Center in Burlington. A visitation will be held Friday, October 1, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Service of Wapello. Interment with military honors will be held at Wapello Cemetery at a later date. A memorial fund has been established for the Grandview Community Bible Church. Phillip Wade Watson was born January 19, 1953 in Ponca City, Oklahoma, the son of Earl and Phyllis (Hawkins) Watson. He graduated from Muscatine High School and from Muscatine Community College. He served honorably in the United States Army. Wade was united in marriage to Dretha Joyce Watson on February 28, 1973 in Muscatine.
Wade owned and operated Heartland Designs in Muscatine with Dretha. He had also worked for Team Staffing for ten years and for Mills Auto Parts Store. He was a member of the Grandview Community Bible Church and enjoyed old cars and old films, especially Wild West stories.
Wade will be deeply missed by his son, Shannon Watson of Davenport, Iowa; son, Zach Massey of Wapello, Iowa; grandchildren: Aidan Christy, Reese Christy, Marty Massey and Ethan Massey; siblings: Ronald Watson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Judy Watson of Wagner, Oklahoma; and Debra Watson of Winfield, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
Wade was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dretha; son, Shawn Watson, and daughter, Marleana Massey.
