Paul George Yedlik, Jr. was born on February 26, 1941, in Lone Tree, the son of Paul and Carrie (Schmitt) Yedlik.  Paul graduated from Lone Tree High School in 1959.  He worked for the University of Iowa for 42 ½ years with a majority of his career managing the BioChemistry Store Room.  He also was an active member and held many leadership roles for the National Association of Scientific Material Managers.  On January 25, 1964, Paul was united in marriage to Mary “Lou” Louise Dohrer in Iowa City.  He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nichols.  Paul loved coaching his kids’ teams in baseball, softball and basketball.  Paul was an avid Hawkeye, Yankees, and Lone Tree Lions fan.  He loved farming, gardening, bowling and attending Iowa football and basketball games.  As most of us know, there wasn’t a dessert he did not love!  Most of all, Paul loved his kids and grandkids and was proud of all their accomplishments, especially showing hogs at the 4H Fair.

Paul will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary Lou of Lone Tree; his children, Lori (Scott), Joel (MaryEllen), Curt, Victoria, Randy (Melissa), Jill (Miguel), Krista (Donald) and Tony; grandchildren, Kimberly (Evan), Alex, Shelby, Ashley, Landon, Sydney, Jocelyn, Finley, Allyson, Maxwell, Collin, Jaxon and Nigel; great grandchild, Preston and sister, Carilyn Wieland.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Patricia, brother-in-law, Darel Wieland and nephew, Terry Wieland.

A special thank you to the Lone Tree First Responders, Saint Croix Hospice, Carol Kaalberg and Fr. Lou for their compassion.
