Paul G. Buffington, 84, of Columbus Junction, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at the Wapello Specialty Care. Burial will be in the Cambrian Cemetery at a later date. Paul G. Buffington was born on December 18, 1935, in Louisa County, Iowa the son of Reid and Lula (Hill) Buffington. Paul proudly served his country in the Unites States Army during the Korean and Vietnam War. He served in Germany scrambling messages and was an electrical engineer in Korea. On November 10, 1972, Paul was united in marriage to Carol (Owens) White in Geneseo, Illinois. He owned and operated Fisher-Buffington Appliance and Heating. Paul was a member of the Pleasant Grove Community Church and the Columbus Junction American Legion. He was an avid reader.
Paul will be deeply missed by his wife, Carol of Columbus Junction; step-children, Diane (Tony) Sulentich of Columbus Junction, Steven White of Texas, Gary (Chris-tie) White of Columbus Junction, Delaine (Charles) Clark of Letts, Janet (Keith) Buffington of Mt. Pleasant; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and siblings, Les (Pat) Buffington, Keith (Linda) Buffington, Mildred (Dean) Van Acker and Virginia Barrick.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Judy Wise and Carolyn Weilbrenner and three brothers, Alan Buffington, Harold “Benny” Buffington and Daryl Buffington.
