Patricia “Patty” Benton, 54, of Grandview passed away at her home surrounded by her beloved family on Sunday, July 20, 2025. Per her request cremation rites have been accorded; Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine is assisting the family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Patty was born on December 31, 1970 to Robert and Virginia Guthrie at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. She graduated from West Liberty High School. Patty was united in marriage to Jeffery Benton on January 8, 1997 in Muscatine, Iowa. She enjoyed working on various crochet projects, collecting angels, humming birds, and sunflowers. Above all else, family was everything to Patty.
Those left to honor Patty’s memory are her husband of 28 years Jeff; six children Tiffany (Matt) Sedam of New Boston, Illinois, Hannah (Sean) Whitlock of Muscatine, Iowa, Kathryn Benton of Grandview, Iowa, Jessica (Nathaniel) Boese-Mosley of Warsaw, Missouri, Danielle (Cody Switzer) Benton of Ulman, Missouri, and Jeffery Benton Jr of Seattle, Washington; seven beloved grandchildren Raegan and Aubree Sedam, Dillon Benton, Landon, Cassidy, Bella-Marie, and Aiden Wood; brother Floyd Guthrie; sisters Donna Wood and Melissa Guthrie; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Virginia Guthrie and her brother Robert Guthrie, Jr.
