Neil “Julio” Cornwell, 73, of Winfield passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at New London Specialty Care. Private family burial will be held at Scott Township Cemetery. A Fish Fry Celebration for Neil will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at his grandson, Devin Houston’s home, 409 S. Locust Street, Winfield, Iowa 52659. Fish will be provided by the family, but please feel free to bring a covered side dish or dessert to share along with your beverages. Online condolences may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com. Neil Cornwell was born on August 29, 1952, the son of Lee and Letha Cornwell. Neil was a 1971 graduate of Winfield High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. On September 23, 1995, he was united in marriage to Sharon Johnson in Mount Union. Neil enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Neil will be deeply missed by his wife, Sharon; children, Joseph Trudewau, Angie (Raymond) Parkhurst, Brenda (James) Spray and Brian Jacobs; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and sister, Marlene (Jim) Evans.
Neil was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jeanie Trudewau and brother, Robert (Phyllis) Cornwell.
