Nancy Reid Obituary

Nancy Gray Reid, 95, of Lone Tree, formerly of Kalona, passed away peacefully in her apartment at Pioneer Park on Friday, June 20, 2025.  Memorial Services will be held at a later date.  Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Memory Care Unit at Pioneer Park in memory of Nancy.  Online condolences may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  Nancy Marilyn Gray was born on August 19, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan. She was the daughter of Robert Morris and Elizabeth (Folger) Gray.  Nancy graduated from high school in Hudson, Ohio and went on to graduate from Case Western Reserve University with a double major in English and History.  On July 8, 1952, Nancy was united in marriage to Albert Francis Reid in Hudson, Ohio.  Nancy was a Navy wife, farmer, artist, knitting designer and lay preacher within the Episcopal faith.  Nancy was an avid reader and was very involved with Navy Relief, food banks and mission trips.  Her hobbies included knitting, sewing and traveling. 

Nancy will be deeply missed by her children, Albert Joseph “Joe” Reid and wife, Jill of Almond, Wisconsin, Elizabeth Reid Bostwick and husband, Randell of Rocky Hill, Connecticut and Martha Reid Wieland and husband, Mike of Lone Tree; five grandchildren, Katy Reid, Samuel (Becca) Bostwick, Jonathan (Kara) Wieland, Brandon (Jenna) Wieland and Molly (Joe) Hotka; and 11 great grandchildren.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Albert on October 17, 2024.
