Morris Laverne Friedrichsen

Morris Friedrichsen, 78, of Muscatine, died Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Service of Muscatine.  Burial will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation for Morris will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to the family in memory of Morris. Morris Laverne Friedrichsen was born on May 8, 1943, in Bloomfield, NE, the son of Claus and Luella (Zorn) Friedrichsen.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1965. On March 17, 1984 he was united in marriage to Yvonne Carlson in Ramsey, MN. Morris was a machinist for over 50 years working in Minnesota, Oklahoma and Iowa.  He enjoyed watching Westerns, polka dancing, working on his farm and his cats.  He was a John Deere enthusiast and enjoyed fixing tractors.  Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family.
 

Morris will be deeply missed by his wife, Yvonne of Muscatine; children, Rebecca (Clemente “Charlie”) Escalante of Muscatine, Jim (Jane) Carlson of Box Elder, SD, Shelly (Larry Meeks) Carlson of Davenport, Mark (Jina) Carlson of Long Grove, Stephanie Friedrichsen-Robinson of Blaine, MN, Matt Carlson of Muscatine and Mary (Chuck) Otto of Durant; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; brothers, Chaseley, Millard and Paul Friedrichsen.
 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth, Eldon and Douglas and sister, Chrystal Glinsman.
